It's His Presence that Matters!

Oct 11, 2009

Jesus said that He would build His Church and gave us some very foundational "Kingdom" parables to lay the foundation.  If Michael Jordan was on your team, wouldn't you build your team around him?  Wouldn't you pass him the ball?  Guess who's on our team?  It's time to pass Him the ball and let Him do what He does so very well - "I will build My Church and the gates of hell won't prevail against her!"

The Shaping of Vision

August 9, 2009

Our recently completed canoe/fishing trip down the St. Croix River served as a backdrop for a message of how God fulfills His purpose in our lives.  Too often we have had glimpses of what God intends for our lives to be and we take a passive position to its fulfillment.  Keith uses Mk 9 as a springboard to this insightful and practical message helping us live the life He intends.  This is one not to miss!

Persevering Faith

August 2, 2009

These are days where great faith grows, is exercised, and great answers to prayer are being recorded.  One important key is persevering faith.  Keith shares some very important lessons from the life of Abraham.  Don't miss it!

Our Vision Journey

July 26, 2009

Keith began to respond to the messages we've received during the months of July and August.  Five guest speakers over 8 weeks all contributing to a dynamic unfolding of purpose for us at Lifeline.  There were some important announcements made today which when implemented will significantly increase our influence throughout the state in foster care and other important issues to our community.  We are in the first 6 months of Esther's preparation so let's yield to the Lord regardless of the circumstances.  When the King wanted a bride, he chose an orphaned girl who was adopted and prepared; an ordinary person fulfilling an extraordinary assignment.  So it is with us!

The Cost of Advancing

July 19, 2009

Russ Leitch with SpiritBuilders was with us this morning.  Russ and Nancy are dear friends from Connecticut.  Russ's message is meaty and addresses important keys to our growing up in our faith.  It will cost us death to our self-centered ambitions if we are going to be used to advance the Kingdom.  He began with a most important key:  "He must increase and I must decrease."  Often we get it turned around trying to decrease ourselves so Christ can increase within us.  As His life is increasing in us, selfish and worldly pursuits can only decrease in our lives.  If we'll change our minds (or, renew our minds), God will come and change our lives.  Russ then challenged us to consider things that will increase in our lives as the life of Christ increases, and the resulting things that will be decreasing.  This is a good, solid, "plumb-line" message helping us stay in step with the Spirit.  It is also the last message in a series of 5 messages from guest speakers spanning the months of June and July.  Next week we'll begin putting some of the pieces together.  I am very excited in what I am seeing already.  Stay tuned!

Serving God's Purpose in Our Generation

July 12, 2009

Tom Rickards from Pine Island, Florida was our guest speaker today and we feasted on the grace of God!  Wow!  Starting with Jer 1:4 where God called Jeremiah from the womb to be a prophet, we saw how God's purpose for each of our lives was set before "in the beginning."  Under the new covenant, we were never meant to continually "rededicate" ourselves and then try to do it better.  Only Christ can live the life!  We're called to yield to Him believing He is willing and able to live His life through us.  As Tom ended his message, he touched on Acts 13:36 where we see that David served "the purpose of God in his generation" and then he died.  He then went on to touch on the Book of Esther as a key to understanding God's purpose in our generation.  Where have we heard that before?!  There is no doubt that God is speaking.  Do we have ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart to understand what the Spirit is saying?  Are we yielding to Him that He might make us completely His!

Adopted for Such a Time as This!

July 5, 2009

Janice built on last week's message addressing some of the implications of our adoption in Christ. We have been "graced by grace" that we might be a blessing to others. Janice started in the natural playing a youTube video listing many famous people who have been adopted and their contributions to our lives (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIBZ-kJ6XAc). She then raised a challenge to us to advance Kingdom purpose in our lives by making the cross our chief boast in life (Gal 6:14) and doing whatever He shows us to do. Great message!

My Sheep Hear My Voice!

July 1, 2009

John Singleton stopped by this week with a really powerful message for us.  He was right in line with what we have been hearing.  His message?  How to hear God's voice in the midst of our busy lives.  Days like these require us to build deeply within our hearts an ability to stay in touch and in tune with the Holy Spirit.  John's message is one you will keep coming back to.  In his easy conversational style, he unfolded a very powerful and practical message from God's heart to ours.  ENJOY!!!

Born for Such a Time as This!

June 28, 2009

Two weeks ago, our brother from South Africa, Timothy Mntambo, opened up the book of Esther to us.  He prophetically positioned the church at the first 6 months of Esther's preparation where Myrrh, a bitter herb, was used.  Today, Keith continued where Tim left off and brought Esther to life and applied it practically to the days in which we live.  As Winston Churchill once said,
"There comes  special moment in everyone’s life, a moment for which that person was born.  That special opportunity, when he seizes it, will fulfill his mission - a mission for which he is uniquely qualified.  In that moment he finds greatness.  It is his finest hour.”

The Power of a Father's Blessing

June 21, 2009

Bill Glass, a former Pro Bowler for the Cleveland Browns and founder of Champions for Life, says that America's greatest need is for fathers to learn to bless their children.  Consider these stats:  1 in 3 kids (24 million) are growing up fatherless; all 17 high school shooters have issues with their Dads; and everyone on death row loves their Moms and has issues with their Dads.  While visiting a Texas prison, bill asked the warden how many of the 300 young men had received visits from their Dads in the last year.  Only one was the response and that lasted 15 minutes before it ended in a fight.  In this message, Keith looks at 5 keys for fathers to regain the power of their blessing in the lives of their children and other fatherless children in their community.  This is one not to miss - especially if you are a Dad wanting the best for your children!
