Floyd Nicholson and his family visited LifeLine this week.  He and his wife Judy married Keith & Cherry 28 years ago and both families have enjoyed a happy reunion.  Mark McGrath is credited with the reconnection.  Floyd explores how we can find God's presence and purpose in the midst of our lives.  We move from elevators, escalators, stairways and mountain climbing gear in our pursuit of the Lord Himself.  On another note, Floyd and Judy have fostered 68 children and adopted 7.  And that is after raising four children who are all gone and married.  Theirs is a remarkable life and journey and the message is the fruit of many years of faithful service.

Charles Spurgeon called Ps 103 one of the greatest Psalms ever written.  It chronicles David's rise from despair to worship.  In this day of busy schedules and hassled living, this psalm reminds us of our covenant benefits.  Pressing circumstances crowd out our memory of His faithfulness.  In times like that, we must speak to our souls.  Our best and sharpest preaching should be to our own souls.  "May all that is within us bless His holy name!"

Matt 6:33 calls us to seek God's Kingdom first.  It also calls us to seek its righteousness first.  We often forget that!  What is Kingdom righteousness?  Should we really cut off our hands if we find ourselves unable to control ourselves?  In this message Keith unfolds the difference between works righteousness and God's righteousness.  Rom 1:17 says that righteousness is at the heart of the gospel.  "In it [the gospel], a righteousness from God is revealed..."  This is an important message and foundational to our future.

Keith & Mike recount tales from their recent trip to Rwanda and Uganda.  How do you explain touching 26,000 churches except to say that the Lord went before us and showed Himself strong on our behalf.  Today's message begins in Africa but continues back in history to Judah where three kings Abijah, Asa and Jehoshophat) serve as the back drop for the message.  Asa served the Lord with a loyal heart for 35 years.  But in the 36th year, fear entered his heart and he made a wrong alliance.  God graciously sent the prophet Hanani to bring Asa back on track.  This was the background for the great promise, "The eyes of the Lord search to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal."  Keith shares important keys to developing and maintaining a loyal heart.

It is rare that we get to hear from Cherry but when we do it is always powerful.  In this message she sets the compass of our hearts to stay true to the Lord's calling in our lives and to run the race that is before us with perseverance.  She uses Phil 3 as a spring board for us to press on to the goal the Lord has set before us.  Cherry takes us into the world of track and field and brings the Scriptures alive with a powerful analogy.  In the end, Fred jumps in with another powerful analogy proving that we were all born winners!  Can't miss this one!
